20 Gallon Low Light Planted Tank Build Journal! FINALLY!

Thanks for the advice patty but i already veat you to that. Once i bought them i seperated them from each other and planted them about 3"-4" apart on both sides of my tank. So far so good :) i just have a question for you. I noticed that in one of your pictures, your driftwood has this whitish-clear film on it. By any chance do you know what that is because i have that on my driftwood and i dont know if its harmful or not to my fish so i just scrubbed it off. Btw nice video and still jealous of the anubias petite :)

Thanks about the video.
I am glad the wisteria is growing for you:thumbup:
Do not worry about the white stuff. It is harmless to the fish, snails, shrimp, etc. I had the same question as you, people on here said not to worry.
One plus side of the white stuff, everybody in my tank lives it. Except my Lazy zebra nerite snail. :banghead:
I hear you about the Anubias petite. I wanted to fill the whole cholla wood piece it is currently tied to!:D
But at $7 a piece, had to say no.:(
There's a place that had it for $5 ea. But they are sold out.

Need help! I am terrified in doing my first weekly water change tomorrow. The vacuum has a fish guard but what about my cherry shrimp? Any help greatly appreciated!

Phew, i was worried about that whitish stuff but not so much anymore. And as for the shrimp and vac problem maybe you could just catch the shrimp with a net and then vac or even possibly just find a way to get them to a corner and then vac everywhere else except that corner

Do the water change into a bucket so what ever shrimp get sucked up will not be lost.
Another thing you can do is just hand fan the water in the tank that way any poop/dead leaves will float up and from there just do the water change skimming few inches below the surface.

Your crypts are looking good Patty

Thank you! One of my favorite plants because of the different colors of the leaves and the hammered-look.
