20 Gallon Triangle Tank

Well I can't move fish until I'm sure the cycle has finished but I did take some of the pillow filler out of the filter sock in the 35G and move it to the HOB on this new tank. I'm guessing that what you mean by media. Also, the fake plants and scenery are from this tank which was an established tank when I picked it up today...until I broke it down and cleaned it. (used no chemicals...just sponge and water)

A good way to help your cycle is to squeeze the sponge/floss from your established filters into the new tank (or directly into the filter). Let all that gunk get in - lots of beneficial bacteria.

I was just thinking this new bowfront tank has some good ground floor space versus the 35 hex... would be good to get some of the bottom swimmers there into the new tank. If you're adding filter squeezings, you should be able to move fish fairly soon (so long as you do it slowly - a couple fish at a time).

I hope tha pleco you gave away wasnt a zebra you could have made up to 80 bucks on it. Good deal on the tank I have a 36 and a 46 BF.

I don't know how many gallons this tank is really. If you calculate volume for rectangle tank, how much do you add for the bow front?

Just FYI. Typcially it's not great to cycle with feeder goldfish because they can bring a lot of disease into the tank.

Feeder goldfish are usually not taken care of and are super stressed so a lot of the time they can bring a lot of diseases into your tank. I would suggest doing what fishycat said and squish some filter media into the tank then add one of the fish you already have to the tank. That way you know you didn't introduce any disease into that tank because presumably your other fish are healthy and are not sick and stressed.

I gave the feeder back and transferred the little red gourami for the 35G hex to this tank. Hopefully he does well. My wife was looking at a Texas Cichlid to put in this tank but he's probably too big so I said no. Ideas for a medium sized fish to rule this new tank?

Did you find out the actual size of this tank? Here are some bowfront tank dimensions:

16 Bowfront - 20 x 13 x 18
26 Bowfront - 24 x 15 x 21
28 Bowfront - 24 x 16 x 18
36 Bowfront - 30 x 15 x 21

I guess it's a 16Gallon. When I measure the aquarium I am measuring (while facing the front of tank) 20 inches from left to right, 17.5 inches high, and 9 inches deep not including the bow front

I got a used 16 bowfront also. Currently using it as a quarantine, till I get some good substrate then its going planted.

Prolly a school of small fish would do best in a tank this small.

You could definitely move five or six of the cories from your 40g into this tank and then perhaps some schoolers like (6-8) harlequin rasboras... norman's lampeye killies would look awesome in this tank with the dwarf gourami.
