What else can I place with the firemouth?

hows about taking some of your fish back to the pet store?
 
you can add a convict, salvini, or sm. red parrot maybe. according to the book, ur crowded, in experience you can add a couple more.

Don't add a convict or salvini, as they are far too aggressive to go with a firemouth in a tank that small, and the salvini gets a bit too large as well. The blood parrrot gets far too large for the OP's tank.
 
Yea i got an eheim 2213, an emperor 280, and a aquaclear 50 on it. I was wondering if I was overstocked but the tank is exceptionally clear.

the firemouth and the bristlenose are ok....you may have to keep an eye out for the firemouth picking on the cories
 
ok thanks, so far he's been ignoring the cories but I only got him yesterday. He is pretty rough condition though, his tail is shredded and so far he won't eat. I've been feeding him flakes and pellets, and freeze dried shrimp. any suggestions on how to get him to eat?
