Really? What am I thinking of then....I use to get emails from my Aunt about I could of sworn it was the "Darwin awards" it would have all kinds of stupid stuff pple did, but it was more like the guy that held up a bank and wrote the note he gave the teller, on the back of his deposit slip. Or a woman who sued a place because she tried to go out the bathroom window and got stuck in it.A Darwin Award has only ever been given for actual death. The whole idea of it is to award people merit for ridding the human race of their reject DNA and thus fostering the evolution of our species towards increased intelligence. The stories are funny because they have that element of sardonic humor. You must have been thinking of something else if you recall them not ending in death.
Darwin gives an honourable mention if you don't die, but should have died due to your stupidity. The lawn chair guy who tied the weather balloons to the chair and had to be saved by a helicopter is an example of a Darwin honourable mention. He lived due to being saved but for all intents and purposes should have died from such a stupid endeavor.
But again, if someone commits suicide that isn't an unintentional death due to stupidity, so I don't recall their being an award for that.
