so who is psyched about 2010? i know i am.even though its before christmas i still wanted to create this thread:D
so post your new years traditions here!!!!
and to everyone: happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, heres my tradition:in my nieghborhood we burn a snowman.
we create 3 paper mache balls paste tissue paper to them decorate them like a snowman, put the snowman on his fireplace base and put all the bad things that happened in that year in the bottom, and light it at midnight:flamed:
watch him burn and make sure he is safe(we always have a garden hose or two on hand)and when his is just a smoldering pile of ashes put him out and soak those ashes real good with the hose.move him out of the street and go to bed.we always make sure he is completely out!!!!!!!!!
then he is easily cleaned up in the morning.

post ur goofy traditions here!

'09 sucked... 2010 has got to be better.

We usually take a midnight motorcycle ride on new years eve, well right after midnight. But this year it probably wont happen singe I have no plates nor insurance on mine.

amen to 09 sucking

I hope 10 is better as far as piece of mind and work goes , need to feel better in that regard . My only tradition is stay home and enjoy an extra day off from work maybe catch some college football on the T and relax some what .

i get my liscence 2 days into 2010 so im aiming for, have more fun and try to spend more time with that 'special someone' now that ive got a set of wheels

09 sucked for me as well, lost my grandpa, my apartment, my car, moved back in with my parents and have been laid off 3 times for a total of 7 months of unemployment. So here's to 2010- it can't be worse that 2009 can it?

And that snow man idea is awesome.

New Year's eve we spend with the kids. Dinner usually consists of cut up cheese, olives, pickles, deer sausage, crackers, pop corn....just snack stuff. The kids get to have sparkling cider (they think it is great 8 and 4 year olds). We play games, listen to music and dance, watch tv shows. Just an all round family evening. Usually the kids crash well before midnight, but the hubby and I wake them up about 10 minutes before so they can see the fire works our neighbors put on (they have about a 20 minute show for New Year's and 4th of July). We then put the kids to bed and spend a little mom and dad time before going to bed.

New Year's Day we stay in jammies and have pancakes for breakfast....even if breakfast time ends up to be noon.
