Hello Everyone,

I am going to be adding a background to my 20g tank. I do not know what would look best on it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks!!!

A black background would be best especially when stuck on all three sides except the front glass. I'd remove those crystal starfish and "No fishing" decorations but I'm biased considering I like the tank to look as natural as possible.:grinyes: Tank looks good but I'd suggest adding more plants at the back. Vallisneria is your best bet as are hygrophilas. I believe you have Mondo grass (please correct me if I am wrong) there which is not an aquatic plant.

thanks for the reply. I have removed the crystal starfish and the NO FISHING decoration as of Wednesday. I do not remember if that is Mondo grass or not. I got it from PETSMART in there Aquatic Plant section.

thanks again.

Personally I like the black only on the back. My tank is against a wall and I like the view of my fish from all 3 angles. I will eventually paint a background that has some shade variations of near black, in the meantime I have solid black. I have a background on my 20G that has mostly rocks and a few plants on it and I think that is fine for a tank with minimal plants and deco. Have fun!

Cubbie blue would be nice :) LOL

Black looks good !!

All my tanks have black backgrounds...The first thing I do to a new tank when I get it is to tape it up and break out the Krylon spraypaint on it :)
