Sorry for the bump, but there are tonnes of other catfish other than corys and small plecos that will fit in a 20g.
I'd say check out planetcatfish and see for yourself. Just make sure you ask first about the habits of the fish as some small cats can be too hyper to fit in a standard 20g.
