20gal stock list...

yeah...I don't want like ALL neon tetra type fish I was thinking... like 2 types of schooling fish will make 2 sepearate schools right?

Fish won't school much unless they feel threatened.

They will for the first day or two and maybe when you vacuum your gravel. The rest of the time they will all just wonder around the tank at their on leisure.

When they do school, they most likely will form 2 seperate schools.

I've heard that tetras don't school sometimes but I have 8 white clouds in my 30 gallon that are never apart. Don't worry about your floor, it will easily hold 300 lbs. there are some people that way that much and I've never heard of a floor colapsing underneath them. If you have a party and have 4 people standing close to each other talking and they each weigh 150 lbs. then that would be 600lbs, and I've never heard of a floor collapsing in that situation either.

that sounds really cool! so I guess that if they don't stop schooling then there like something wrong...no? so another thing I guess since the tank I will be getting isn't gonna be store bought I was thinking how can I get the measurments for a 30 gallon tank? oh and is there something in beetwen a 30 to 50 gallon tank?

here's a list of sizes and dimensions: http://glasscages.com/?sAction=ViewCat&lCatID=2 (a 29Gal is the standard "30 gal tank")

the only problem is that most of these are custom sizes and therefore need a custom hood if you're planning on covering the top of the tank.

I suggest the 38Gal because there is a standard size hood that will fit that size tank. Just make sure the length and width dimensions are the same :D

I didn't even know they actually made a 30 gallon tank, seems odd to me since its only 1gal difference (better footprint though).

Yes, the 29 is taller for fish like angels and stuff. The 30s for schooling fish. Note they don't make a 60" or 5' tank. Wonder why.

As for All-Glass, they (and Perfecto, who makes the same sizes) are only the "standard" because those are what stores stock.
