I am going to be getting a 210G freshwater tank going and am looking for ideas. I'd kind of like to get some unique fish. Stuff you dont find at every pet store. Thus far the tank will have 3 Pictus Cats and a Common Pleco that are be moved from my 55G. Im thinking of getting a Black Ghost Knife as well. Can anyone think of some other species that might be interesting, large or small?

Hmm, adonis plecs are VERY interesting looking and would make a fine addition to your tank.

I'm still picking ideas for SUCH a large tank! How about 170 neon tetras??? hehehe

I would want 5 bichirs, some large cichlids like oscars and such, and there are SO many things to stock your tank with!!!

Give me more boundaries of what to choose and Illl pick a tank jsut for u!

Neons

I have about 25 neons in a 55G right now so I probably wouldnt want them in the big one. Though a huge school would be cool!

i know a few you may want to add.
1. lyretail swordtail x 3 (swordtail with obseenly long fins, real pretty. kinda hard to find)
2. honey gourami x 2 ( i havent seen one, just in books)
3. angelfish x 1 (still a good fish to have and look at)
4. flying fox (only available at certain times of the year)
5.mickey mouse platy (i cant find any!)

research these species and see what ya like.

any new world cichlid like p.polleni, or an african like frontosa, l.fullerborni, humphead, or even something different like a baby dolphin.
like mentioned above bichirs are extremely fun to watch as well as looking different.

oh yeah, forgot to add flowerhorns and bloodparrots!!! :sim:

I'd second (or is it third?) bichirs and other "prehistoric" fish. Awesome size of tank. Truth be told, if I had a tank that large, I would probably try my hand at saltwater.

zebra pleco, they used to be an endagered species, but there is a guy that succesfully breeder them, and they look really sweet. A couple of nice Altum angels would be nice also.

Zebra plecs are also a very cool looking plec! Harlock, I'm glad you agree on my idea of bichirs, too!

I have had an epiphany!!!

4 African Brown knifefish
2 BGKs
4 asst. Bichirs
1 common plec
4 zebra plecs
100 ghost shrimp
