210g Stocking Ideas

Ooooo, discus would be nice in that tank, but at least $50 a fish wouldn't appeal to me...

Owning a 50 dollar fish isn't bad. Losing a 50 dollar fish however...

I agree on the Zebra Pleco idea maybe with some Angels of all sorts or discus but like oddball said very expensive

There are soooo many options, i am so jealous
anyways a couple smaller groups of 25-30 schooling fish would be nice
coupled with a few larger peaceful fish

With a tank like that, you can do some great community tanks and some great species tanks. Cichlids of so many different kinds. With a tank that size you could do a cichlid overstock and it would work out well. There are just too many possibilities with a tank that size, freshwater alone.

The only way I would seriously own discus was if I had a nice showcase tank like the 210 gallon one and a 75 gallon for juvies. Losing $50+ fish hurts, but when you can replace them and sell extras, its ok. They are so very worth it. I would do something spiffy with cichlids or discus.

The Bichirs are really cool! I dont think I have ever seen them before. Very unique in my opinion.

Discus would be great too. The price tag kinda sucks though. I happen to see a three approx 6inch discus at a pet store today. They wanted $250 a piece. Very cool fish though.

Great ideas so far from everyone! Thanks!

I'd get a super large piece of driftwood, cover it with anubias, lay it on top of some well placed rocks with lots of cracks and openings. Plant more anubias along the bottom, and get 2 or 3 ghost knives, 5 anglefish, and a school of congo tetra. 7 or 9.

I'm in the midst of stocking a 210g myself. So far the inhabitants are 1 senegal bichir, 3 spotted pictus, 1 L075, 1 african butterfly fish, and 1 African brown knifefish. They've all been getting along without incident for a few months now.

I'm probably going to get 2-3 more ABFs, but I'm not sure how they coexist w/ eachother.
