Its his DIY rubbermaid Sump/Wet Dry filter and a milk crate of bio-balls.

@OP, Awesome start, I just started a 120gal for a dozen discus I purchased recently. Good thing you have a python in one of those pictures, those waterchanges would be a pain without one.
