WTB 24 " Incandescent Light Strip

I have two extra 24" strips from a 55 gallon tank that has since been taken out of use. I could ask my handy friend if he would modify it for me to hold two screw-in CFLs instead, he's done it for me for several of my strips already ;) Unfortunately, shipping will probably be around $10...not sure how much you would be willing to pay on top of that.

wally world = Walmart :) I've never seen a 2' INCANDESCENT light there, but I have seen 4' shop lights (fluorescent). Undercabinet lighting is sometimes 2' but usually fluorescent.

Honestly, I've never seen a lighting fixture meant for aquarium use that is 24" and incandescent. All I've seen are the 20" hoods designed for 10 gallon tanks, and they are full hoods so not strips.

yea the stores i checked out (petland, petsmart, and petco) carry only 20" strips. I found only one on amazon for 30$

My local Walmart has hoods, but one 15 miles away doesn't. It seems hit or miss as some of the Walmarts have been getting rid of their fish and supplies.

If you have any thrift stores or Goodwill stores you can sometimes find aquarium supplies there cheap.

If there are any local aquarium or fish clubs that have auctions you can usually get them dirt cheap.

Craigslist and your local freecycle are also great places to find aquarium supplies. On Craigslist make sure you search not just the regular section, but go into the pet section (in the community section) as those items won't show up on a general search. On freecycle you can request items as well as reply to what is offered.
