29 gal Tang tank

update:
The calvus is doing well, swimming a bit and hiding behind one of the rocks piles. The others are all doing well, too. How soon should I expect problems to arise if there is more than 1 male shelly?
Thanks!

Glad the calvus is up and about - lovely fish - probably just a little bit of acclimitisation stress.

I think you'll find that when a pair forms they (the shellies) will beat the tar out of any other competitor for a breeding site. Pair forming - I don't know I'm afraid. Very quickly with the right set up but also could be in a few weeks or after some months subject to the environment in the tank.

Would love to see pics of it - sounds really great.

Here are some shots...
full tank, both corners, rear view of dickfeldi.
The calvus is usually hanging out behind the rocks, and the shellies (any one have any info on them?) are hiding in/around the shells, so I couldn't get good pix of them. I will try to later, though.
Any comments or suggestions?
Thanks!!

Thanks... I think I may add another plant between the the left rock pile and shells, but overall I'm pretty happy with it.
I am wondering though if some dither fish would help put them all at ease. I'm thinking dwarf rainbows, platies, something along those lines. What're your opinions on that?

Something fast, cheap, and that could take a beating. Giant Danios.

I'd hold off on the dithers until they settle in more and have become accustomed to the environment - you very often don't need 'em. They may have the postive effect of encouraging the pair forming presuming you have pair potential - but the calvus would likely be a target fish in that regard anyway.

But, as tarheels says, giant danios would be one option - I think platies would be shredded.

Rainbows are also often used. I don't know how many of either you can use in a 29.

Ok then... I'll just wait and see how things go. It'd be nice if they all settle in enough that they become a bit more active.
Thanks for the help and advice!

It's been brought to my attention that the julid is not a dickfeldi, but rather a marlieri burundi. Will that be a problem, do you think?

Well, I think I have my answer. The juli has the calvus in a corner and the shellies in their shells, not letting them out to eat or anything. Do you think I should trade him in on a different one (or a different fish all together) or do you think they'll figure it all out?
