i thought abotu gettign a 29 gallon tank to pu to of my bettas in adn i had 2 questions one would 2 bettas a snail 2 opaline gouramis and atrue flying fox (shark) be of and would any of the fish fight with teh bettas and also one fo teh betts i have i know is a female but the otehr one i bout looked likea female when i got ti btu when i flares it kinda l;ooks like a male and i have had no problem with them fighting as they are in the same 2 gallon or so tank

I'd be careful with putting both gouramis and bettas toghter. See gouramis and bettas are in the same family, that being Anabantids. They are all very similar in shape and colors overlap at times. So I would suggest not to do it. Also I wouldn't keep a male and a female together either. The male can be pretty aggressive to the female if she is unwilling to breed, and, most likely, kill her.

Personally I would not try to keep a male and female betta in a 29 gallon... maybe in a 55, but definately not a 29 gallon.

I had a male betta and a gourami (dwarf powder blue) in my 29 gallon tank at one time, and they got along just great. Well no, they didn't get along - they totally ignored each other - their paths never crossed. They each had their own spot at the top of the tank (betta top front right corner, gourami top back left corner).

It all depends on the individual fish...

Good luck!
