29g Piranha tank Pics

Ehhhh, I wouldn't want to give water changes to YOUR tank anytime soon... Beautiful fish, pity you can't have more!

I am curious, how do you clean your gravel or do water changes?

Well when I had the cave they just hid in there when I messed with their tank, so now it will be interesting to see because I haven't g'vacced yet, and it is time..so today or tomorrow I will, and I don't think I'll have problems...Hope not *knock on wood*

Feed them well before working in the tank and you shouldn't have any problems.

The tank is sooooooooooo pretty........ :cool2:

eh, the ones we had were just little pups. They never really messed with us when we cleaned the gravel, fed or not. But I guess just to be safe, feed them.
We all know what a piranha could do to your finger...even if it was a baby.

Maybe I'm just used to being cautious cuz of the wolf fish, but still piranhas could hurta ya pretty bad.

How about some java moss as a carpet? It seems to be a good palnt for a piranha tank.

Also, I know I'm being picky, but move back the swords a few inches. It will help keep the piranha in the front of the tank so you can see them better. It might be just because they are small, but in the zoomed out picture, I couldn't see them at all. Piranha usually sit out in open water in a group of 6 or so. At least, thats always how I recall seeing them in dispalys at the lfs.

Yes piranha are very shy. IMO, their aggresion is really from their fear of everything. The ones I had would hide if you even went close to the tank. Tapping on the glass makes them go nuts. And if you corner them, they will attack you so always watch where they are when you clean your tank. They should stay away unless they feel cornered.
