29g Planted

I'm seriously considering shrimp for algae control...

What I've experienced with that, is they munch on it, but definitely don't control it it.

IMO, the only way to control algae is by finding your lighting, fert/carbon source balance.

I like the API product much more that the comparable Flourish product. Tried them both and got better results with the CO2 Booster

It's been a week and I'm seeing some growth. The Alternanthera needs some attention but the Bacopa is doing fine. The sword looks the same, no new leaves but no dead ones either. I'll test the water on my day off, Monday, just to see where I am with the cycle. BTW, I'm using only API Leaf Zone right now; can I use API CO2 Booster and Root Tabs all together?

yes, they are designed to be used together. Root tabs are only necessary for your sword. Your stem plants will benefit from the Leaf Zone and all will utilize the CO2 Booster

I had a planted 29 up to a few days ago (just moved it all to a 55). Rooted plants did okay, stem plants did well, but I eventually built up a lot of wood and grew Java Fern, Anubia, Bolbitis, and similar in the wood which thrived.

I CAN'T STAND IT! Tank looks empty without fish so . . . I tested the water and everything reads 0. I took a bag of ceramic rings from another canister I had running and put it in the SunSun 2 weeks ago. I did add more Bacopa and some Java Fern from another tank; the fish, 2 Platies, also came from the same tank. I haven't given up on the Planted Tank idea, I guess I'm a true fish geek.
