3 Gallon Dorm Tank

O what do you all think about otos?

Yes no or maybe so?

I've heard 1 or 3 is the way to go but 3 is better than 1.

Any other mini-tanks out there with otos?
 
Hi, great little tank! Oto's aren't a good idea. you don't have a big enough tank to properly support them. I'd stick with the betta and snail for stock.
I'm just curious... aren't you worried about your betta jumping out? I had a betta in my dorm room (eoooooons ago, lol) and there was no lid and he jumped out in the middle of the night and went to fishy heaven. Would hate to see your little guy meet the same fate.

Ya thats what I thought :( just seeing if anyone pulled it off.

Right now no. Theres about an inch gap between the surface and the tank top but I'm planning on getting some netting to make a lid thing. Probably have a weight at each end and drape it over the top.

BUT yes I've been monitoring very closely because I was afraid of it...so far though there are no signs that he is a jumper. Hasn't even come close to getting out of it yet :)

(I think hes too happy being out of the cup he was in after a week while I was waiting for the tank)

That's no fun!!! Predators are where all the fun is (usually).

Nice rimless. Make sure Mr. Betta doesn't jump out, but I guess the plant is helping with that. I have a 3 gallon on my desk too, but it's an antique Metaframe and much heavier than the Pico. It's sitting right next to my 6 gallon. No room for books.

I really like your tank that you have and as others have said, I think it would be really neat on a desk with a CPO crayfish in it. :p:
