I second GBR. I had one and loved him but had to hard water to have him. Your PH sounds like you could house one a lot easier then I could. Lots of personality, I miss mine. =*(

I think I might get a GBR, if I can find a nice one at my LFS. I already have another tank I can transfer it to, if it ends up being too aggressive.
If I do need to move the GBR out of my community tank, I'll probably try a dwarf gourami next.

Neon dwarf rainbows (bright turquoise with red fins) or some of the other rainbows. As their name suggests, you can get them in most colors
A mixed school of Congo tetras and boesmanii rainbows (blue and yellow) is really cool.
A pair of marbled angels
A pair of pearl gouramis (as someone else also suggested.)
A Bolivian ram would be nice and get some size...but would stay nearer the bottom.

You might want to add a couple more otos if you can - they really do better in groups of 6 or more but even 4 would be an improvement for them.
