im going to have the following in a 30 gallon:

5 bronze cories
5 kuhli loaches
1 angelfish
1 bushynose pleco
10 cardinal tetras

what type of plants, wood, etc. would be a good idea? please reply with links and pictures as well

I would watch it with the angels. It IS possible for them to find the cardinals as snacks. The plants and wood would rely heavily on the lighting above the tank (WGP, spectrum, etc.).

not speaking from experience here, but I've heard of a lot of people keeping breeding pairs in a 30. So I would think that 1 would be ok... though I think tend to understock a bit myself, so I probably wouldn't add all of those fish :) as it's almost as many as I have in my 65g

I think the 5 khuli loaches is quite a bit. If you are keeping them for snail patrol then 3 is probably enough. I am a fan of cardinals so I would skip the angle and keep the stock the way you have it only with 3 loaches.
If you have over 1w/g I would go with some crypts, vals, hornwort/cabomba, some hygros, anubias, java fern/moss, and possibly some dwarf sags. Get some branchy driftwood and attach moss to it for the cardinals to swim around. The effect is amazing. Check out Bk828's thread on his 55gal. for a model.
Good luck.

personally i think that 30 longs are to short for angels.

pick either loaches or corydoras; both get pretty big, around 3½ inches for bronze corydoras and 4 inches for kuhlis. two groups of five each would be to much for the bottom of the tank.

replace the angel with a bolivian ram, and you're set.
