Hi All,

Did a search on here ref marine tanks and octupii... also done a fair bit of research online.

One site states I could house an O. bimaculoides (calofornian 2 spot) in a 30g as long as I had sufficient filtration and a 20g sump. Another states mion of 55g tank.

I will be adding a 20g sump to house the skimmer (will add oversized skimmer for size of tank due to inking), I will be adding live rock to the display tank and as much as i can fit into the sump (total around 50Kg).

Will my 30g (with 20g sump) be ok for this Octo?
If not is there one that would be ok / thrive in that size tank?
Also anyone in the UK know a good importer or LFS?

TIA
Chaz

thanks OG i thought as much but wanted to check as don't want to cause any unnesecary risk to the octo.

one other question - external filtration? Is it needed? Would it be better to have a top range Eheim wet/dry or a sump? I like the idea of having a huge filter with built in thermo etc. rather than a sump. Live rock would still be in display tank at around 35Kg.

Thanks
Chaz
