Hi and thanks for reading,
I was offered a 30g Long tank with pump and filter for free because the previous owner is moving. Now, she has offered me some fish she needs to part with before the move. She just emailed me so I still need more info, but she has the current fish:

Long tailed tetras, cherry bomb tetras, cory catfish, striped danios and lemon tetras.

I have yet to hear how many she has of each...but is it possible to house these fish together in the 30g (numbers pending, I will post when I have those).

Thanks.
Kara

it sounds like a bit much, but definately depends on the numbers, they can all get along for sure. Not sure about danios, never had any, but the tetras and corys are schooling fish, so the more the merrier. I would say a bare minimum of 3 but most people think at least 6. although 6 of those 4 fish would be too much, so let us know what you have!

Depending on the numbers, the mix appears okay.

i'd watch out for the cherry bombs though.....HA.... HA...... they are cherry barbs. mix is ok just figure in the #'s

Ah...so by cherry bombs she means cherry barbs? I'm just quoting what her email said. I thought maybe they were a kind of tetra I didnt know of.

Anywho, she said they are 12 fish in total, but didnt specify how many of each. I plan on getting a 55g this summer w/ small schooling fish, so I can eventually move the tetras into that tank with more of their own kind so they can school. But right now I dont have the funds for a bigger tank, and she has to get rid of these fish asap.

A total of 12 in a 30 should not be an issue.

Yep, they were all together in a 30g High...but I just wanted to check to make sure the prev. owner had given them enough space and that they mixed well. :)

Thanks for your help everyone!
