You'll be surprised what vinegar will clean. You could use a diluted bleach solution if it is stubborn but try the vinegar first. I bought a used 20g that had been FW and it cleaned it spotless for a hospital tank. I'd clean the filter in the solution too. And then use new filiment.

I bought 60 pounds of argonite sand today at my lfs. I plan on buying the salt later today. Also I'm going to spend an hour or two cleaning.
