So we are becoming addicts and added a 37 gallon to our house on Saturday. For the last 3 months we have been running an Aquaclear 50 on our 75 gallon as a spare that we knew we would transfer to a new tank if we got one. So we put that on the new tank as well as some plants from the 75 gallon and put a few Ginat Danios in. I tested the water today and I have Nitrates present already. Parameters are as follows:

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5ppm
PH - 7.0
Temp - 78

Could I have possibly had an instant result from using the established filter from the 75? It took us 3-4 months of constant headaches cycling our 75 so I think I'll faint if this was that easy. Is this wishful thinking on my part?

I think you are cycled, but I would add fish slowly, just to be safe. I cycled my 180g by adding the filters from the 35g and 55g that I was combining into the big tank.
