3D Background, Still Unfinished. What Do You Think So Far?

Little update here, I Bought some cheapo craft paint at the dollar store, and gave it a little stippling over the board.

this is actually 3 different colours, But i think its a little too bright now, So what colours could I add to sort of tone it down, and make it slightly more natural looking?

I think with some other colours added, I can tone down the redish to it all.... but i dont know where I should go from here.
what colour(s) should I put over top of this?

I know Im going to need some green for a little bit of "algae"

I just realized I forgot to scale down that pic.

It does look a little bit darker in real life.... the camera seems to brighten things up a bit.

i would blast it back to grey or black again....if it was mine, i would want it to be more like a dratic dark sky to fit in with castle....think about colours like that....

good thought... If i get it black or grey again, what highlight colours would be good to go with???


I was thinking of hitting it with the spray paint again if I can manage it today, give back a "shaded" look.

I just used some spray paint, and then colored stuff, is some acrylic craft paint from decoart(.com)

Doesnt matter if its fish safe, it will never come in contact with the water.

I have ordered marine epoxy (like 2 weeks ago) and if it ever shows up, The last step in this process is coating the entire thing in epoxy to seal it up.


BTW for those wondering, Ive added more shades of grey and brown/grey.

The background is now darker, and looking pretty durn good, But I dont have the camera again, So i cant take any more pictures at the moment.
