Hi Everyone,
I'm not really new to the forum but I haven't posted in a long time so a lot of you won't recognize me. Anyway, I'm looking for some stocking ideas for my new 40 gallon. I have been keeping fish for 12 years now, so I know about the cycling process etc. So no worries about that.

I'm really unsure of what I want right now and I am just looking for different ideas. Thanks!

Hi Erynn,
What shape is the tank? Are you thinking of a community or species tank? Sorry to answer a question with questions, more specifics sometimes help people come up with ideas...

You have a lot of good options in a tank that size. If you want fast moving fish with nice colours my two favourites are rainbowfish and barbs. Or you could big amounts of smaller fish like harlequin rasboras, cardinal tetras, rummynose tetras, or many others. Dwarf cichlids like apistos, rams, and kribensis are nice too. Very interesting to watch.

BTW check out the link in my signature. It's a forum with mostly GTA members. Great local resource of info and I'm sure you will be able to contribute with 12 years experience!
