40B stock and plans

It’s been awhile since I updated this post. My plants were over grown and taking over the tank. I also swapped out my old gravel and put in black substrate. I also got new spiderwood for the tank. The tank is currently cloudy from moving things around.

The tank definitely looks better with just the black substrate and looking forward to a pic once it clear up. The new wood also looks great!

By the way, what substrate are you using?

It’s eco-complete in black. I had it mixed with the regular gravel before. It didn’t cloud up the water much like some reviews said. I love my Black phantom tetras, pretty fish and not all that nippy.
i’ll post a photo later of it cleared up.

WOW, the tank cleared up exceptionally well and looks fantastic!!!

Thanks! The fish seem to like it and I see my tetras out and about more as well. The bamboo shrimp love the plants and wood in the current, it makes it easier to feed them as well.

Excellent tank, does your pearl gourami have any problems living with your other fish?

My pearls leave my other fish alone and ignore the betta I have in there as well. But the male does chase off the female at times but they aren’t that aggressive. I have them with corydoras, kuhlis, black phantoms, guppies, amano and bamboo shrimp, bristlenose and royal farlowella.
