How many discus can you keep in a 40gallon breeder that would be planted and get weekly water changes?

I keep a duo plus 11 sterbai corys.

Do they need to be a pair ??Would a 40 long be okay just the same? 40br 36x18x16 vs 40Long 48x12x16.

4 is a good number, and is the minimum I would ever keep together, regardless of tank size (unless they are a breeding pair).

I would suggest if you do keep them in the 40..you should up the water changes to atleast 2 weekly fairly large water changes.

I do 40% in my 75 with 7 discus in it.
