Hello. Here is my 40gal long 1 month after planting and 15 days after ferts and CO2.
Light: 4 hour on ,1h45min OFF, 4h15min on.2x32W T8 florescent bulbs one is 6500K other 8000K I can put one more 6500K but I’m not sure how this will react to algae.
Temperature: 77F steady.
Gravel: Half is regular white half is e Eco-Complete.
Filter: Eheim 2217
UV sterilizer :9W Turbo Twiston for 10h during night hours.
CO2 :Milwaukee CO2 Regulator with 5 lb tank. On for 12h 50-55 bpm
Airstone: on for 9h during night hours.
Water parameters:
PH 7.0 , Ammonia 0 , Nitrite 0 , Nitrate 10ppm , Fe 0,2 , dKH 6 , KH 7 .
I start growing green spot algae over glass and over plants leaf 15 days after tank was setup. Then I started dosing PPS Pro fertilizing and adding CO2 .After 14 days there was more algae. The plants grow
expand drastically. 2 days ago I changed amount of KH2PO4 / Potassium phosphate/ from 6gr for 1L to 55g for 1L solution.
Is it OK or I will harm water parameters? I’ll appreciate all comments and advice which can help me to reduce algae bloom.
Thanks a lot for a great forum to everybody.
