I have a Cascade 700 Canister filter and a penguin 150 HOB. An Elite 150 heater and about $120 in rocks....

I am going to put a few cichlids in here, but center it around a pair of brichardi.

Ammonia 5ppm, NitrIte 0, NitrAte 10 (from Tap)... Day two of my fishless cycle.

Let me know what you think... :headbang2:

The fish will add the color.... IMO too much color in the deco around the tank, and the fish won't be the focus anymore...

Looks nice! Are you going to add some plants!?

It looks really clean (Haven't perfected that look when I seed my tanks :wall:), and it has good rock, but IMO the colors of the rocks differ too much. Also, it kinda looks like that top back piece is balancing there, but overall, it looks really nice. The cichlids are going to love it.

Looks like a great start. My only concern would be that big rock in the center tumbling either forward or back into the heater.

Other than that, I'm looking forward to pics of the fish. :thm:

interestingly enough after about 5 attempts to aquascape the rocks with tank full of water, and my crushed coral clouding up my water, I emptied the whole thing, and took the time to get every rock in place so that there isn't any movement or give... the big rock in the middle really is very stable, and it weighs nearly 13 pounds, so it would be a tough job for the cichlids to push it from underneath.

I am going to put the fish in all as juvies, and let them grow together, so if I see them giving it a hard time, I will superglue the pieces in place (surprisingly, superglue is safe for inside a fish tank....)
