I should be getting a bunch of plants today, two types of smaller crypts and some dwarf hairgrass. The bettas might be a while. Still waiting for more of the brood to mature before I pick the ones I want.
Thanks for the comments. Today I went and bought a new API master test kit, and glad I did because this tank was cycling. Luckily I only have snails in the tank, and I seeded it with established bio balls from another tank. The Ammonia was 4ppm, nitrites were hard to read, but either 2ppm, or 4 ppm, since 2, 3, and 4ppm all look about the same, and about 40-80ppm nitrates. Did a big water change on it. Since it's showing high levels of everything, it should be done cycling in a week. Hopefully before I get the bettas. On the bright side, the 10g barracks I setup is fully cycled with all levels looking good (0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and 5 natrates) so I have somewhere to put the fish if the little tank isn't cycled by the time they get here.
