Hi, just a quick question.. Could a 5 gallon hex be used as a grow out tank for africans? Maybe for say..yellow labs or red zebras, and just for a couple of months until they are large enough to go into the main tank. Oh, and only one at a time.

no too small they will get stunted growth unless you have supreme filtrationn and water changes. a 10gal for one for a month or two as a grow out with good filters would work tho.

No. That is way too small. A 10 is too small for growout too IMO. 20-30 gallons would be good to growout.
