:hang: Fairly recently I purchased a 5 gallon aquarium for my small room in my apartment. I have a fantail goldfish and an albino cory and from what I've been reading in the end when these fish are grown I think this is all this tank can hold - seeing as goldfish are pretty filthy and produce a lot of ammonia. Do you think it would be ok to put any more very small fish in the tank? The tank has a built in 8 watt flourescent tube and I was thinking about making it a planted tank. I read about getting flourite and sand but I dont know about the CO2 part of planted tanks and how that works (well duh on the part about uptaking CO2 and producing O2 - just on how you get it in the water, and how much you need so you dont make carbonic acid and change your pH). And would I have enough light with the 8 watt bulb for plants to do well? I change the water about 50% weekly and wash out the filter to keep it clean the tanks doing well it seems and the fish have grown a lot over the past two months. Better than I thought the cheapest walmart fish would grow. I also have a question about my fish's behavior. I'll feed my goldfish first some tiny pellets and then a couple flakes and then I'll throw in the tablet for the cory but the goldfish always shoves the cory away. Is this going to be bad for the cory in the long run? I know if someone were doing that to me when I was trying to eat I would get stressed. Please dont yell at me either for having only one cory too (I know they prefer larger groups) but he seems to be doing ok and I didn't want to over populate my tank with the recommended six in a group. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
