50 Gallon Man Cave Build

if you want t5ho http://www.fishneedit.com/ you should also check out lowes and home depot both tend to have t5no at good prices as well.

3-4 young ones as long as you have somewhere to put the others or able to sell them off. not sure where you are at but coast fish club often has angelfish pairs in their monthly auction.

Something like this reasonable?

Comes with 4X6500k bulbs, but what would you recommend? Or better with the 2 bulb setup you linked.

So the tank has been running a few days now and the lights from fishneedit.com arrived yesterday.
Got a 4 light setup with 2 6700k, 1 10,000k and one blue bulb currently running. So 96 watts on top of the 50 gallon which is a 20" high, 15" deep tank.
Driftwood in the middle will be arranged some once the branch piece is fully water logged but it won't completely fit in any of my buckets to sink it totally. :wall:

A couple pictures, and remember this is a Man Cave build so the second picture gives you an idea of the overall view from my desk.
Need to order some plants now, any suggestions aside from Anubias for the wood?

I would not suggest shrimp with Angels, I have even heard Amano shrimp become lunch for Angels. If you want shrimp you really need to keep the fish you stock small.

IME, my breeding pair of angels(7"), didn't eat amano shrimps, or my larger female RCS. I don't think they will eat the amanos unless they r starving.

And great start! Very nice tank and equipment, very clean look:)

what will you focus on? TV?Fish?

looking nice! the only thing is that the wood on the left doesnt quite fit with the other peices. its your choice, though. i cant wait to see it when the plants grow in and you get fish!

Thanks, so if I lose the Angel Fish idea and go GBRs whatcha think for a stocking list with some Ottos and a group of schooling fish or two?

I like hardscape much better now. Those are some of the healthiest java ferns I have ever seen! Make sure their rhizome is above the substrate or it will rot (just like anubias). GBRs with otos and schooling fish sounds like a good plan.

i would like the angels more, but as i said, its your tank.

are you gonna get more plants or just stick with all of this?
