Hi everyone,

I'm a marine newb and I want to start out with a nice breeder setup. If I setup a 500g tank (not worried about apperance) how hard would it be to maintain it in my barn? My barn is well insulated with gas heat and It has full electric, but not water... I live in Michigan so winter will be an issue with water transportation. Is this a possible project?

On a side note, I have a nice little 75gal that I could use for a sump...

The more suggestions the better

how far away is your barn from your house?

The barn is a short walk from the back door of the house (maybe 100-150ft)

Breeding what? Tank size is not really an issue, as much as culturing food.

Im not sure what exactly I want to breed... Probably a Mixture of One breed of fish and live rock as well as other things like crabs starfish etc...
I know that I won't be able to use anything that is carnivoress...

Generally, you are better off breeding fish in small tanks, where you can manually remove the fry, both to protect them from the other fish, and to get food in high enough concentrations that they dont starve.
