54G stocking ideas

I have a 54 gallon corner tank with a Cascade 700 filter and I'm looking for some fun and unique stocking ideas.

I currently have three giant danios, a cherry barb, and a platy.

I plan on adding some more cherry barbs to make a larger schooler.

Any good ideas for some compatible species that would be good for this setup?

Your cherry barbs will like having more. Your giant danios are also schoolers and will like having more. You could also do a school of cory cats on the bottom. Then maybe a centerpiece fish. Perhaps an angelfish, or a pair of rams or kribs or something. That would be what I would do with the tank.

Those giant danios will probably nip around at the cherry barbs. Why not go with just one big center school? Centerpiece fish would be what esoepr said: ram pair, angel pair, or kribs could work too but they have a tendency to breed and kill...everything.
