55 Gallon Mbuna (P. saulosi) Project/Build

Here's a mini update. The tank is now in phase two of cycling, with 0ppm of ammonia and nitrites and nitrates on the rise! Can't wait to get fish in the tank.

The only problem I am encountering right now is that the community well we get our water from has changed in parameters and we now have a lot of sulfur in the water. I'm still using the water to cycle with, but I'm having to use Spring Water in my betta's tank. I know that letting the water sit and aerating it can help eliminate the amount of sulfur in the water, but I was wondering if anyone else had suggestions.

Also, can water be too hard? Our water is so mineral rich that it's forming a mineral crust over everything in the tank.

Thanks for reading. Better and more detailed updates soon!

Sadly, I am closing this thread. While I was very excited to get the P. Saulosi fish, an emergency in my family has came about and by taking responsibility I am now living off of relatively small funds. Thankfully the tank is cycled and I can look for cheaper and less specific fish. This won't be the end for this tank though, and when I find out what to stock the tank with I'll post a new thread. Once again, sorry.

Bummer, dude! Let us know how this tank turns out and good luck.

Nice project...Ima follow this project to see how will come out to be like...keep it up and us update

Hello everyone, I thought I'd at least tell you what fish I decided to purchase. I ended up getting Acei, and they are real cute little guys with loads of personality. Updates and a new thread soon.
