55 Gallon Stocking Help - Aiming for Community Tank

I've had male bettas with male guppies before without a problem, it all depends on the bettas temperament. If he isn't compatible with other fish might I suggest getting a nursery net and having him in that(inside the 55) instead of putting him back into an unfiltered/unheated bowl. I would also opt for just one angel if you have to have one. Also African dwarf frogs are quite social with their own kind and getting more then one would be better. If you really want a pleco I suggest getting a bristlenose plec.

A betta is a betta like a cichlid is a cichlid. Goes to show you never can tell.

My betta (wilbur) is the first official inhabitant of my tank (besides plants and snails). I did the water change this morning. He actually looks a little flustered from the tank's current and quickly found refuge under some plants.

I am flexible and might see how they end up. From people's experiences, does getting a juvenile angel usually lead to no problems in a community tank or is it a toss up?

I have juvenile Angels in my community tank (with Dwarf Gouramis and Mollies), and they are perfectly fine. Everyone gets along nicely. I have never had a Betta, so not sure how those two would mix though.
