Whoops, I saw 32 inches long & quit reading I guess. A group of angels would work if you have some plants or something to break up sight lines. With 5 or 6 you'll no doubt have at least some of each sex & as they mature there will be some fighting +/or breeding. I have 5 in a 75g, 2 adults & 3 not quite. There are 2 younger ones that fight sometimes & 1 that is picked on. A big sword plant divides the tank so they can escape.

With your hard water maybe try some african cichlids. I love them.
