55 gallon tnk

Oops sorry I thought you mistyped school and put shoal.

And I have 4 danios and I dont think ading 2 more would make a HUGE difference.

It probably would. Try it if you can spare the bioload and post the results.

You'd be surprised. You'll see brighter colours, and less aggression when you keep schooling fish in proper/larger numbers, this aplies ESPESCIALLY to zebra danios and I'm speaking from actual expierience.

brighter colors= They are black, grey. Not much to Brighten.

less agression= I think it would be the opposite. Since they would be a different group, they wouldnt know the ohter 4 who know eachother well. They would get picked on. Thats not good,

my thoughts on getting 2 more. Plus the fact I only hav a 10 g and can barely fit another fish

youd be suprised how much black can brighten. everytime i get more black skirts the others come rushing up to greet them, and stick around the bag until they are relaesaed, and afterword, they show this wonderful black color with a beautiful iridescent sheen, and i glad to say its still there

Well thats sounds cool. I will try ading atleast 2 more and see whats changed. I dont want a tank full of fast moving fish that bump into my guppies alot.

Actually, if you spend enough time watching your zebra danios, you will realize that they have a yellow backgroud colour - that is what brightens.

ALthough you will see more aggresion to the new comers, it will settle down, and with more fish, less/no fish will be singled out from the school, so, each fish will get less atacks by other zebra danios against itself.

I don't have many...

danios in a school? ok, when i think of a "school" i think of all of them in a tightly packed group swimming around in unison... i've got 7 danios in my 55gal, and the only time they come close to each other is at feeding time... other than that, they're all doing their own little thing... is the school species specific? ie, would i need 7 zebra danios only? cause i've only got 2 zebras, 3 with long, flowing fins (one blue, one yellow, and the other green), then i've got one that is silver with a red top fin and tail...finally, the one that make me think of a rainbow...when the light hits him right, he shows off yellow, blue, red, etc. etc kinds of colors... come to think of it, i don't even think they're danios, but that's what they were sold to me as, so whatever... ANYWAY, my point is that they'll all swim together for a few seconds and split up and go all over the place... not my idea of a school or shoal
