I ve been trying ti decide for longest on what to get next.......a 55 gallon or 75 gallon. What do you guys think? Filtration will most probably be an emp 400 and 280(together).
So i have been reading that the weight of a 75g gallon tank may pose a problem if set up above the ground floor. Has anyone experienced a problem with a 75 in an apartment? Please share your stories.
The writer is a professional structural engineer. Bottom line: whether a 75-gallon tank will be safe for you depends both on the construction of your apartment's flooring and the position in which you plan to place your tank. Better to run your plans past someone who can actually evalute your floor before you purchase that 75-gallon tank!
I had a 75gallon in a upstairs apartment for a couple of years without any problems. But structural integrity can differ greatly from building to building..
