55g Planted tank (The Start)

lol I have to give you a hard time b/c i am still setting up my tank

lol yee well you are getting closer. Already got the reg/co2 tank/wood/light.. now all you need is filters and some extra substrate and you are all set. Ill be sending you plants in about week and half-2 weeks.

And since theres a slight change in the tank i guess ill do a photo tease..

Today cleaned up the right side of the tank.. took out all of my anubias/needle ferns as well and trimmed any bad/old leaves.. now everything looks good (got a ton of needle fern babies which i might sell of) also took out all the rotala stems and did a heavy trimming, trashing the bottoms and replanting the tops.. Still got alot of floaters.. Anyone want to buy frogbit?? lol
Also in the news.. GOT A DROP CHECKER !!!!! woot woot lol

Well here are the photos (ignore the dirty back and the lop sided spray bar lol)

Give the tank a week and everything should be tall and bushy... Also im slowly getting rid of plants i wont need in my future rescape.. so forgive me for the messy/empty/random look of the tank..

Now that the plants are all addicted to pressurized co2, better start crusing craigslist for a spare cylinder .

I purchased a setup off craigslist, was planning on reselling the cylinder, but decided to keep it as a spare. Now I'm never down more than 15 minutes on co2.

The spending never ends.

:headbang2:striking as always! CO2 dropped you'll be unstoppable :D

lol thanks but its a mess :lipssealedsmilie:
While cleaning up the tank i realized one thing.. That SMS is messy no matter how many times you clean it.. As i was pulling up the plants, i got soo much dust all over the place.. I will need to get another 20lb bag of substrate to top of the sms on right side..

But i got a 20lb tank lol i dont expect the co2 to end in another year++ :silly:

Looks very nice BK!
Looks like your drop checker came with a clear suction cup anyway.
Thanks fishy, but its the black suction cup lol.. but like i said its not a pain since its on the non visible side of the tank.

Yeah, the 20lb'er will be nice. I've got a 5# and a 10# that I switch between. Powering two tanks, the 5# only lasts about ~3 months. Just switched in the 10# a few days ago, we'll see how long it lasts.

I'm upgrading to either a 120g or 180g in a few months, I'm thinking on getting a 20# for that.
