55g Planted tank (The Start)

Thanks H3D

Yeah, the 20lb'er will be nice. I've got a 5# and a 10# that I switch between. Powering two tanks, the 5# only lasts about ~3 months. Just switched in the 10# a few days ago, we'll see how long it lasts.

I'm upgrading to either a 120g or 180g in a few months, I'm thinking on getting a 20# for that.
Im lucky i landed on a great price for a co2 tank.. Got mine for under $50 but it was in a horrible shape, rust and dents all over the tank. But lucky the local welding shop switched it one thats a bit more appropriate..
For a 120-180 a 20lb one is the way to go.. Unless you want a 50lb one lol, ive seen it and its HUGE

Update time..
Will just go straight to the photos and then a few words of whats happening..

Had a MAJOR trim/plant sale this week.. Made a nice profit. Still got a few plants i need to sell off like the FROGBIT!!!! lol if anyone wants some ill hook you up..
I moved some plants around, like the blyxa aubertii which is growing in nicely, sending out shoots which should soon show some flowers.
I also noticed that Elatine triandra is in high demand so I spread out another carpet of it which will later go for sale.. With the nice profit im getting from the tank i dont really plan on redoing it any time soon, might as well use it as a grow out tank, get some spare $$ and upgrade a few things. But slowly with each trim the tank is starting to look nice once again.
Btw I would like to thank pacersfan for donating me 2 bolivian rams. They came this morning and were seriously stressed out, one was already laying on its side. For now they are still getting used to their surroundings and i hope that both stay healthy and give me some babies lol.
Later in the week im also supposed to be getting some wood shrimp (bamboo shrimp) from Pops. Cant wait!!

And once again anyone wants frogbit let me know.. i got twice the amount shown in photo: ($8 shipped priority or $5 shipped first class mail)

Loving the tank! Even with you harvesting, the increased height on tank right and especially on tank left frames it all beautifully. Hope the rams pull through....

Blyxa aubertii

Oh yeah that is some sweet Asian biotope goodness... it has that reputaion for being delicate and a pain to keep looking great. What has your experience been with it thus far? It looks like its thriving.
Its just like regular blyxa though i guess it is a bit more sensitive and the leaves break easily + if a leaf is injured it has a tendency to split (like vals) But overall its a pretty nice plant, the roots are just as crazy as on blyxa. I say if you got a chance to buy the plant, BUY IT! lol
