We are looking at getting a 55g tank soon. I will be doing a fishless cycle with it. I have a few questions. It comes with a double filter, will I need another on or is this one good? Also, I do want to put some live plants in it. What kind of plants are good, and where do you get them? I found a LFS in my area, but they don't have anything like that. They only guarantee their fish for 24 hours.

Well, I don't know how far away you are from larger cities, but they should have at least one or two fish stores and one of them should at the very least be able to order plants for you. When you say double filter, I have no idea what kind or brand of filter that is, nor do I know what its gallons per hour of filtration may be. If you want live plants you also need to do some looking and find out what wattage of lamp you have under the hood. Lighting is very important for live plants in determining what you can grow. Before we could suggest plants, we'd really need to know the wattage of lights.
