55g wet pet

Well I know I can't put a festae or oscar in there so what other fish have people put into a 55g (long term) and had success. One tank buster or will consider a pair. Want some personality, a fish thats not skittish.
 
Any of the parachromise but managuense and Dovii.

Or you can try N. grammodes. Small aggressive predator.

Or you can try carpintis. :)
 
A lot can fit into a 55 gallon. You have quiet a bit of cichlid options, why not go through the species profiles and come back with some ideas of what you might like? It has min. tank size in the profile of each species.
 
A single large Uaru and some corydoras, bristlenose and SA tetras makes a nice setup. Uarus do better in groups, but a large (8"-12") can do OK by itself. Very similar to Severums, but more laid back. A pair of Severums is also great, and there are lots of morphs to choose from, mix and match.
