hi can anyone let me know what the measurments for a 55gal tank is? i think its 48inches ling right?? im thinking about getting one for my room and dont worry i wont be putting a shark in it..any ideas for what would be good to stock in a 55gal..it will be a FOWLR...any puffers or triggers? well prob no triggers right cause they get too big and i dont plan on getting a bigger tank for them..the only other tank im gonna set up is for the sharks.
what about an eel?snowflake or wolf?..i need some ideas Thanks

Dimensions are 48" long x 13" wide x 20" deep.

If you can get a 75, that would be better as it is 5" wider.

yeah i know it would be better but there is a deal in walmart in Pennsylvania a 55gal, power filter, heater, hood, air pump, and all little things like that for $150, so next time i take a ride to my sisters from my house in nyc than im gonna pick it up.So what ya thinkg for a 55gal?

I'm partial to clownfish or lionfish...maybe one of the medium-sized Lions, and the Clownfish book that I've been reading says that the two can be kept together...

The dwarf puffers, like the sharp nosed puffer, would stay small enough for a 55. I wouldn't put any triggers in, and a porcupine would outgrow it quickly. The 55 would be fine for many of the smaller fish-especially with about 60 pounds of LR. A bicolor angel, 5 chromis, and the puffer would be a lively, sustainable tank. The angel should only be added after the tank is well established and stable.
