58 Gallon Planted/Breeder Australia Styles

Not all fish are too bad, problem is though, the fish you can keep is quite limited. This is "to protect the native ecosystem." which in one way is fair enough, but makes it hard when we see what you guys keep. i am new to planted tanks, but i dose Seachems Flourish twice a week, i have Flourish Excel, but am not sure if its too much Co2.
Do you reckon it is enough?

Tomorrow my fish arrive. This will make the stocking list....
2 x Apistogramma Borelli
2 x Apistogramma Cacatuoides "double red" (but actually yellow)
10 x Rummynose Tetras
? x Cherry red shrimp
6 x Corydoras Pygmaeus
3 x Otocinclus

After that im thinking i may remove one of the Apisto. pairs. Still small but very aggressive towards each other, plus my Cacatuoides ate so many of my Borelli fry.

I will eventually add some more tetras, probably 10-15 Cardinals. Also will need some surface fish such as hatchets. Are there any other Amazonian surface fish???

Ok current list is

2 x Apistogramma Borelli
2 x Apistogramma Cacatuoides "double red" (but actually yellow)
10 x Rummynose Tetras
? x Cherry red shrimp
15 x Cardinal tetras
2 x otocinclus

i dont believe there are many other south american surface dwellers that are small and that peaceful. plus with you saying that the task of getting many other fish in Australia is hard you may be limited, your best bet would be to google search south american surface dwellers and see what you find and what your pet store can get for you, sometimes things are only seasonal in the amazon but im assuming that being a surface fish they should be able to be found at all times

alright thanks,

I spent a crapload of money again this weekend on fish.

I got a red tiger lily for some surface cover, and also
5 x Otocinclus cats
1 x L168 butterfly plec

just finished a 20% WC, and a major trim of my Ambulia, Amazon Swords and Hygrophillia. Trimmed them down low behind the hardscape to hide the stem ends. Thinking of replacing the hygrophillia with a bushier plant. Almost got my entire stock now.
2 x Apisto Borelli
2 x Apisto Cacatuoides
15 x Cardinal Tetras
10 x Rummynose Tetras
1 x L168 Butterfly Plec
6 x Otocinclus cats

Still to come.......

6 x Corydoras Pygmaeus
maybe 5-6 x Marbled Hatchetfish???

Probably going to have to upgrade tanks too!

Right....ALGAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What to do, everyone is happy with how the tanks looks, except me, seem to be getting hit hard by blanketweed growing from the driftwood.
