3.have no idea.
4.glass can be the same thickness as a 55g.

Okay, so I got quotes from Glasscages.com. 60x12x12 inch tank, for pick-up off the truck in Boston:

glass - $292
acrylic - $435

...So I think I'm gonna have to pass on that.

I could get a 33 long (48x12.75x13) acrylic, with lid, delivered, for $209.

I have looked at glass and acrylic sheets for building my own, but they're pretty expensive too.

I did spot a 33 long on Craigslist, but the guy hasn't gotten back to me so I'm guessing it's gone.

*le sigh*

My next move is to contact some local Aqueon dealers and see what they would charge to order a 33 long for me.

Any other ideas?

yup... got it local.

this is how i did it though... http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source...=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=4f910945c1ee36d4 (that is according to you conveniently placing your zip code in your location bar :D)

i just called and asked for quotes until i found one close enough where i was happy with the price and distance. got the quote over the phone, went there and paid... picked it up 3 days later.

:confused:i would only have one worry...........................
how are you going to get any work done if you are sitting in front of this crazy distracting fish tank!?!

Yeah... If I just say "Jaffrey," people are like "What? Don't you mean Jeffrey?" Saves time and confusion to just list the zip. :p:

Work? What is this "work" of which you speak? :p:

Not sure but, have you ever though about creating a fish bridge and having two tanks?

I did think about that, but I want this to be as clean and simple as possible. The office is very nice, so the tank has to look elegant. Nice thought, though.

:topic: GlassCages.com does have nice tanks and stands they can build, but I've talked to a guy that went to check out the place and the owner is a bit...... :weird: Aside from that the shipping always seems to get you from there too. Even to go buy a tank and pick it up is quite a bit.
