5g Filter

I cant stand the tetra whispers! I had a few when i first got into the hobby, just cause they are so cheap. I found out real quickly why they were so cheap.

The Aquaclear is much much nicer. I am thinking about going with one of those for the 5g. But I want to look further into an internal filter w/ sponge or something!

My son's tank filter went out after 2 months (Eclipse 5 gallon), so I got the AquaClear rated for 5-20. Haven't had a problem since and it doesn't take up room in the tank. Internal filters are nice, but I hate to give up real-estate in the tank, especially since it's only Five gallons.

:iagree: I actually tried an internal first (can't remember the brand, I think it was tetra again...) and they do take up a lot of space in the tank. HOBs are better IMO.

I use to have an internal filter for my 10g (same thing the whisper) that one isn't really to bad, but i agree as well just takes us a lot of room. AC are a decent price and work very well.

Be sure whatever you are putting in there can handle the current of an AC 20 if you choose to go with it.
