Well my soon to be 6 year old son got a 5 gallon Hex for his birthday. Something small enough to put in his room (very limited space). The tank is now set up and cycling but now I need some suggestions. What would work in this tank. I am going to try to steer him to something that will work well. He really isn't interested in a Betta so that is out. He loves the mystery snails in my aquarium, and liked the guppies, zebra danios, neon tetras, and some barbs at the pet shop last time we where there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I want to try and make this a very good experience for him with proper stocking.

Thanks in advance.

Male guppies would be great in a tank that size. If you can find them in your area dwarf shrimp like red cherry shrimp would be good, too. I keep A. australe killifish in my 5 gallon but they are sometimes hard to find.
