On the upside you'll know why it takes you that extra bucket to fill it. My 5 came with a hood- the hood orginally came with a incandecent bulbs, all of 10 watts I think and the light was an awful color. Went to wal-mart, in their pet section, I found a CFL bulb to replace the incandecent, now I have a 14w with a much more appealing light tone that runs cooler. It was about 8 bucks, Petsmart wanted 14 bucks for the same thing.
Good to know, I'll have a potato on hand for such an emergency, haha. Yeah, it's great, the micro sword that was withering in my 25 is spreading like wild fire under that light. I got the tank on Xmas, and the clump has doubled in size and the C. Wenedtii is getting a nice jungle look to it.
Well Planted is a Complete Fail! Plants are turning brown and 1 by 1 dying! Maybe i'll just stay with Silk/Plastic Plants for Now, Anyways i have an empty 15g Outside and wondering of upgrading if my mom lets me keep it in the house

and have enough money to set it up. And do A community tankI've never had much luck with Swords my self. However I seem to be a C. Wendetti pro... I've never had a melt despite all the moving I've done to them. You could try those, hornwort, java moss, guppy (naja) grass or other such hard to kill plants. I just never seemed to get the planting right on the swords and aways killed them.
Problem is my LFS only carries Bacopa, Amazon Swords and hydrilla oh and ill just try to order them when i upgrade to the 15
